Let’s rewind a year, let’s also pretend I had a job then that required something more sophisticated than paint spattered artist overalls (overalls were crucial – I once sat on my oil palette, seriously). I didn’t fall asleep planning the next day’s look, I did check the weather but not to plan photoshoots around half hour intervals of sunshine. My obsession with fashion though, that was almost exactly as consuming as it is now – overdosing on blogs? Guilty. Gorging on magazines? Guilty. Absurd amounts of time spent online window shopping? Guilty.
But back then would I have pulled this look together and worn it without any self doubt or hesitation? Almost certainly not. Now I know it’s not crazy wild but I have a serious job now, am one month from turning 30, and I’m wearing this to work.
So what am I trying to say? Blogging pushes my boundaries and I love that. There’s pressure of course to put things together in new ways and style old pieces up to be on trend (hello Office shoes circa 2002) but it’s good.
Thanks for sharing the journey with me!
P.S. Apparently I still feel no pressure to iron…
