My Red Sea Holiday

Sun – I ‘glowed’ (my dad says that only men sweat, ladies glow).  The Egyptian sun never gets tired of shining and I enjoyed it through a shield of factor 30 every day.  If I could’ve packaged some up and brought it back I would have.

Sea – Fun times spent on the hotel pier impersonating Deuce Bigalow, ‘Here fishy fishy fishy’, and looking at the beautiful reef full of amazing fishy fishy fishys.  You could of course swim in the sea but we preferred to completely prune ourselves in any of the 8 pools.  I swam in the pool, sat in the pool, lay in the pool, read my book in the pool (and proved to myself why my ipad is not safe at the pool).

Sand – We rode camels and quads in the desert.  We gazed at stars and sunsets and ate bedouin feasts on the sand.  And when we forgot our flipflops we RAN over it (see ‘Sun’ above).  In fact we made friends with a really great couple at our hotel and D loved that sand so much she said she wished they sold little bottles of it for her to bring home.  It’d be a smart man who could sell sand in the desert but he has at least one customer right there.

During our holiday we had the pleasure of staying at The Grand Hotel in Sharm el Sheikh with Red Sea Holidays.  From the airport collection, right through our week long stay until the moment we stepped on the plane to come home, the Egyptian reps were amazing and always smiling.  Thanks Adam and Sayed, you guys rock.

I’m sure they’re trying to track me down… 40 degrees, jeans and a crash helmet do not an olympic standard cartwheel make!
