I’m excited. Skirts over trews is not exactly ground-breaking – I did it in the 90’s with a handmade, lace underskirt type of situation over DIY, ripped up jeans with safety pins. It was really quite special. So things have moved on a little since then (for one, it is no longer plausible for me to feel destined to be Mrs Kurt Cobain). But here I am again and I am excited about the resurgence of lower half layering.
So the leather legs, which might as well be stuck to my limbs I wear them so much, under a Peter Pilotto. I’m gonna put it out there… the Pilotto for Target range didn’t exactly blow my mind, designers doing high-street rarely does. That being said, this skirt is a really nice skirt. I love her. Is she a Pilotto? Not in my mind. But I love her nonetheless for her own qualities – especially over the leather legs. A crisp white shirt feels about right for my sping state of mind and, what do you know, there’s even some sunshine coming through in these shots.

Leandra has been doing skirts-over-pants a lot lately, and now you too! You’re making me think it may be time to revisit that trend myself … Though obviously not in the ultra-special A-line-skirt-over-bootcut-pants-in-a-single-garment (yeah, they existed) way that I did in the 90s. 😉
