Thankfifi- Shopping Chinatown in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Well hi from Malaysia!  After what seemed like an epic journey we made it to Kuala Lumpur and the first couple of days have been a big, awesome, hot blur.  Travelling can be so exhausting and after 30 hours with very little sleep I’m not sure I even remember Nancy shooting these photos but, at the time, the adrenaline of having arrived somewhere so incredible kept us going.  Then, and now, we are loving every moment – check out Instagram for the real time updates.

On day 1 we shopped.  First the malls (wow, there are so many) and, good news for us, the 1 Malaysia Mega Sale has just begun.  My top pick was this pair of Topshop heels, sold out at home, but here in KL, in my size, on sale, just waiting.  Of course I couldn’t resist slipping them on because they matched the lanterns… (these sliders  got me through the rest of the day).  Chinatown has the most incredible energy and colours and was it possible that it was even hotter in there than the rest of the city?!  If you’re in the market for fake designer goods then this is top of your hit list but after seeing all the real life beauties in the malls I just couldn’t go to the dark side.

Fresh coconut water on the other hand was a no-brainer.  Nothing to really get the holiday spirits up to speed like a coconut!x

top – Zara :: belt – Hobbs
leather short – Theory (similar or budget friendlier)
gelato heel – Topshop
glasses – Ray Ban :: bag – Ted Baker (ON SALE!)

This holiday I took the plunge and left the DSLR at home.  Instead I read up on the best compact and plumped for this little Sony RX100 and, let me tell you, she’s a cracker.  I’m still getting to grips with all her settings but, so far, we’re getting along swimmingly – I think she handled the market shots like a champ.  Hope you like them!
