Hey it’s Wednesday – up and at ‘em! Or not? Why are mornings so darn hard? Well I have a few ideas… and how to combat them!
First things first – the foundation of sleep. I might have mentioned my resolution to stop working at 8pm? Well, aside from one major ‘up till 3am before a 7am flight fail’ lapse, I’ve been doing pretty good. And I can tell you, it helps big time. Like I wake up and don’t wish I had a shell to hibernate in. Like I wake up after 8 hours sleep and feel like I just scored a secret little bit of the day that no one else even knows about. I have time to get up and do something before I even need to think about dog walks and emails and all the general day stuff. So I do.
Still struggling to get up and go? Lumie alarm clock. My mum gave me this for Christmas last year and it changed my world. For real.
Remember my favourite workout mantra? I’m all over that at 7am. I might never be one of those people that has time to go to a gym but working out at home for half an hour is just about doable. Jillian Michaels is on repeat in this house but right now I’m excited to try out 30 Days of Yoga which a friend recommended to me – body, mind and soul – I’ll let you know how it goes.
If you’re anything like me, having the right gear does wonders for the ‘up and at ’em’ attitude. I’m loving these new motivational leggings (the legs don’t lie – ‘Just do it’) and neon toes. I always love Nike and have been wearing Free’s for years because they’re so comfy and bendy. These new guys are from Zalando and I’m so happy to have partnered with them because seriously, every time I look for new sneakers, these guys have them cheapest. The Flyknit 3.0’s are basically like wearing socks and I LOVE them – like wear them instead of slippers love them.
So one last thing – fuel up. Santa brought us a Nutri Bullet and it changed everything. Seriously. I never thought smoothies could be so… well… smooth. Obviously I’m testing out every combination I can think of at 7.30am and right now I’m stuck on this pink power smoothie… scroll down for the recipe.

Beetroot Banana Power Smoothie
1/2 a ripe banana
1 small cooked beetroot
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp hemp seeds
Pour the whole lot into a Nutri Bullet (mine has changed my world) or blender and whizz until smooth. Enjoy. Drink up the goodness. And go.
