On dogs and chips…

Troon beach with the Finnish Lapphunds - Thankfifi-5

If you know me at all you’ll know that these guys are everything to me.  They spam up my instagram feed and are the reason I change from heels to flats about 4 times a day.  They keep me healthy and happy and make me laugh every day.  Life without them, quite honestly, would suck.

I try my very best to keep them healthy and happy too – one of the reason’s we’re at the beach every weekend, even when it’s covered in snow…  because these guys like to run and run and run.  These days MrK is super reliable and doesn’t stray too far, baby Tux is another matter…  this kid does everything at a hundred miles an hour.  He runs away, he digs holes in the middle of your lawn, he runs back, he gives kisses and he chases his tail all with a true sense of urgency.  You never really know what you’re gonna get when you let this guy run free.  We’re working on it…

So let’s talk chips.  MrK’s ears just pricked up…  this guy loves chips.  But these days he’s on the healthy stuff; the boys are loving this hamper of home made treats from Murphy’s Bakery so much that baby Tux comes tearing back with possibly even more voracity than before.  If that’s possible…  I love the idea of the peanut butter and banana crumble biccies but they love the roast beef and garlic sausages aka the smelliest ones.  But back to the chips – from the 6th of April it is compulsory for all dogs in the UK to be micro-chipped and we’re delighted to partner with Pet Insurance from Petplan, who my two are insured with for life, to spread the word.  Both my guys are on board; Tux was already chipped when we brought him home from our great breeder and we had MrK done when he was just a couple of months old.  The chip is like a tiny grain of rice that contains all your details – honestly it’s peace of mind should they ever get lost or stolen.  A quick scan with a wand, like the ones at airport security, and it’s easy to identify exactly who they are and who their registered owner is.  Just in case they ever race off into the sunset…  which at least one of mine does quite regularly.

And now for the photos.  There are so many, sorry not sorry, but you know me… and beaches and dogs and sunset…  Happy Sunday.x

And one of the great things about having a dog is hat it gives you a reason to get out and about each day, even if it’s just a short walk 🙂
