USA photo diary – New York

The last week was spent colour hunting, eating and instagramming across the US with the day job (ok, maybe a little working too).  I’m so lucky to have a job which not only do I love and which fits with my blog but also with a boss who will take shots like these for me on work trips – how awesome is that?

In truth we didn’t have much free time in NYC this time around but we did manage to hunt down this elusive wall in Dumbo (if you are forever searching for the perfect wall too, I’m pretty sure it is on York St. just under the Brooklyn Queens Expressway).  An ombre riot of yellow, orange, red, green and blue by MOMO.  Instagram goldmine.

Trusty tourist outfit of biker jacket and jeans with espadrilles (actually I ordered a new season update with these guys in blue, although loving the classic colour too, tough call, maybe both… but they didn’t arrive quite in time – insert single tear emoticon here).  Added a simple silk neck scarf not just because it was orange, well maybe a little, but because, you know, details…  And then we basically loaded ourselves up with coffee from One Girl Cookies and cones from the Brooklyn Icecream Factory enjoyed on the pier looking at the bridge before taking the subway back to midtown for a jaunt round our favourite independent stores, ABC and Fishs Eddy, followed by the best grilled cheese and wine at Beechers.  Not too shabby for a few hours spare.  I heart New York.

P.S.  Not forgetting the best takeout sandwiches EVER from Blank Slate Coffee near the Flatiron.  And the best honey chilli avocado toast enjoyed with a side of retro etchasketch.  And THE best smores dip.  Serious stuff.
