Dining with a difference & £100 TK Maxx giveaway

Spring is here you guys and I am embracing it with a giant, outdoorsy, long lost friend hug.  This was literally one of favourite posts ever to create…

TK Maxx set the challenge to create a unique dining experience and I headed in store honestly without much idea of what I had in mind.  But that’s the beauty of shopping at TK Maxx right?  You find exactly what you weren’t looking for.  I’m such a sucker for the wicker pieces at the moment and when I managed to snag these baskets and that incredible giant vase, coupled with the sunshine outside, things started to take shape.  Big smiles too when I came across the Rwenzori collection; beautiful pieces handwoven in Uganda, helping support women in the poorest communities send their children to school.

I hunted down the soft furnishings and grabbed that giant pompom trimmed, wool throw the moment I saw him as well as the mongolian cushion for just £30 (big savings on the £90 RRP).  Once it’s gone, it’s gone and many of the pieces are one offs so you gotta grab it when you see it.  I did a little happy dance when I clamped eyes on the huge, old school, water dispenser proclaiming to the husband that I had wanted one of those for years…  I think he rolled his eyes.  But it’s true, I really have.  New kitchen knives and chunky wooden boards at 60% off cheered him up though (it’s a man thing) and a stop by the food section saw another basket filling up with delicious oils, vinegars, nuts, chutneys and olives.

And so the table was set.  My perfect dinner party – al fresco, laid back, mix and match yumminess.  And the good news is that you can get in on the action because I’ve partnered with TK Maxx to giveaway a £100 gift card which you can use online or in store.

GIVEAWAY CLOSED
Congratulations Giovanna!x

Loved this post- and especially lovely to feel a hint of summer coming on these last few grey Glasgow days. Would love to win the TKMaxx gift card to glam up my bare garden, which we’re hoping to enjoy more now that we have a crawling 10 month old daughter. All the best for your pregnancy- being a mum is the best job in the world!

There is only one shop in the UK, that I can walk in and be guaranteed to find something unique, of very good quality that will last and last while generating good interest from guests at home. I have this huge gold tray I bought in Clydebank ( amongst other key pieces lol) for £19 after the Christmas sales years ago & it sits on our 8 seater dining table. Everyone thinks it’s a custom made piece from Morocco…but alas it’s from my beloved TK Maxx!

  19. Roisin Posted 30 Mar at 10:50 am

We’ve just sourced a little 2nd hand BBQ to fit into our tiny shed, so that when the sun comes out we can pull it out into our little patio and savour every minute. Growing up my family did a lot of late night bbq’s so I’m also looking forward to a few evenings, sat under the rug cooking food on the fire. Al fresco is best.

  20. Gill Nicol Posted 30 Mar at 11:35 am
