Sno gin

DSC_2238-2

Sno gin is like sloe gin but it’s what I made because the only place I could find sloes was ebay and, as much as I love a good online auction, I don’t think it’s the right source for fresh foods!

Ingredients

cranberries
granulated sugar
gin
sterilised bottles/jars

Directions

Pierce each and every single one of your cranberries multiple times with a needle OR take a corn on the cob skewer in each hand and go mad stabbing the bowl of fruit for as long as you can bear.  I’ll let you guess which one I did.

Scoop enough cranberries into your jar/bottle to fill it about a quarter.

Add sugar to taste.  (Having never tried this before, or sloe gin for that matter, I just poured in a third of a cup into my half litre jars).  It looked so pretty and festive!

Top up with gin.

Seal.  Decorate.  Give.  Enjoy.

There’s nothing quite like a homemade gift and I know I appreciate the personal touches in gifts my friends give to me so I may have made quite a few jars this year… and maybe kept one for ourselves too.

My tags read ‘Sno Gin’ on the front and on the back ‘It’s like sloe gin but more Xmassy!  Shake every day.  Tasty after 3 months.  Tastier after 12!
