God Save My Shoes

Speak in front of a cinema full of people?  Yeah I’m down with that, it’s cool, I got this.  I won’t get the sweats half way through the screening.  I’ll be totally cool.  I’ll even animate my hands when I’m up there (didn’t know I did that till I saw the photo).

Friday night we attended the premiere of God Save My Shoes at the CCA as part of the Glasgow Film Festival.  Along with Cat Acylsmic, Dawntroversial and Steven Moffat of Shhh, I took the stairs up on stage while the credits rolled.  After an hour of killer heels, why we love them and how to walk in them, it’d be fair to say we were apprehensive to navigate those steps successfully because, naturally, we’d all chosen skyscraper heels.  Except for Steven.

Don’t worry mum, I could hear your voice saying, ‘slooowly and cleeearly’ and I did my best not to ramble – my hands, apparantly, had their own agenda.  And look – ThankFifi up in lights!

The film is cool, complete with shoe fiends and designers and shoe museum critics asking us what we’re really saying when we choose to wear those kind of shoes.  Absolute fav observation had to be this – man is the only mammal to walk on two feet and yet we choose to put these (insert suitably ridiculous heel here) under them.  Why?  I don’t understand it.  But I love it.

Anywhoosles, that’s me all prepped and pro and ready for panels – someone alert IFB Con that I am available!

I think all girls make the same mistake! We buy very expensive heels then we wear them and then we hate ourselves for wearing and buying them. HAHA Yet again we do it over and over again! And for men… they will never even have a clue!!! All they can do admire our skills to walk in those babies and keep their mouths shut! 🙂
    Great Post!!!! 🙂

Annie, you have probably hit the nail on the head – although I rarely regret buying them, just often regret wearing them!x
