I need your help…

shoes

I have a shoe problem.  No, don’t be daft, you can never have too many shoes, pah!  My problem is a little different than that.

Somehow this girl, the one who almost left school the day she had to speak in front of assembly, has agreed to be on a discussion panel at a movie screening.  The topic is close to my heart though.  You guessed it – shoes.

‘God Save My Shoes’ will be premiered at Glasgow’s CCA tomorrow night as part of The Glasgow Film Festival and I will be up there at the end with a panel of people speaking about our relationship with and perspective on shoes.  Then there will be questions, from a room full of people, staring right at us.  Totally going to be picturing them all naked, mhmm, only way through it.

You can watch the trailer for the film here and if you want to be naked on Friday night and ask me awkward questions I believe you can even buy tickets.

So, come on, help a girl out – tell me how you feel about shoes…  please.

For me, it’s the old cliché – your trousers can mysteriously shrink (totally unrelated to that chocolate I just ate, obviously) but your shoes will always fit. Nothing gives you a confidence boost like a pair of fabulous heels – I start to strut the moment I put them on.

    Good luck!

I love my shoes! I have a lot! I have mostly flats, and I own quite a few pairs of Cons. But I like to think of my shoes in terms of where they’ve been. My pink and purple converses for example, (I am from Maryland, USA) they’ve walked around in London, they’ve seen Stonehenge and Buckingham Palace. My sparkly flats have taken the DC Metro, and seen the White House. My red flats have walked around San Diego, CA. They’re more than just necessary accessories, they take you places (no pun intended).

That’s so interesting – I never really thought about my shoes in that way – isn’t it funny how everyone’s relationship is so different!x

LOL… you’re adorable, and I love the photo collage for this post. I would be a nervous wreck!! I’m not sure I can help you in this case, I wear completely uncomfortable and impractical shoes just because they make an outfit work or elongate my legs… but maybe that’s universal among women?

    Good luck 😉

With the exception of dog walks I am usually completely impractical too and I don’t feel ashamed to admit that!

To be honest, I tend to dress around my shoes. It’s true. Especially when I receive a new pair, I find myself already coming up with many “outfits” for each pair. A shoes, as lifeless and simple as they may seem… can easily breathe life into your eveyrday routine and/or hectic work-week. I love shoes, I’m a shoe gal… what can I say?

Oh I’ve so done that too! Sometimes it’s really all about the shoes – I can put on the plainest outfit but if the shoes are awesome it makes it good.x
