Marie Claire Blog Awards

Yesterday morning we took a taxi from our hotel to The Music Room on South Molton Lane where the Marie Claire Blog Awards were held.  We had some trouble getting out the taxi though; our Scottish Sterling was called, and I quote, ‘Mickey Mouse Money’.  Off to Disney Land we go…

Upon making it into the venue, I almost immediately had the honour of meeting Trish Halpin, yeah, the editor of Marie Claire.  I remember telling her who I was wearing (Reiss, by the way) and Monica of The Elgin Avenue and I chatting blogs with her too and I’m sure I wasn’t flummoxed at all, nope, not a bit.  Right.

We mingled in a room full of the extremely fashionable and met Beth from Style Guile, also shortlisted for Fashion Blogger of the Year.  There were super cute tiny glasses of yogurt w/ muesli and mini pastries but I’m afraid they were left untouched as we awaited the main event – the results.

Introduced by publishing director Justine Southall and presented by online editor Helen Russell, the awards began and the lucky ladies accepted their awards.  ThankFifi didn’t win top prize this time but being shortlisted whilst still so young (the youngest on the list I believe at 6 tender months!) is still such a huge achievement.  To be recognised by the fashion force that is Marie Claire is something I couldn’t have dreamt of when all this began!

Afterwards we headed with Monica for a celebratory coffee at her London fav Le Pain.  Such a sweet girl and a well deserving winner of Best Fashion Blog – congratulations Monica!
