Malmaison Glasgow – The Big Yin

DSC_4411

When you rock up to your room and the door plaque simply reads ‘The Big Yin’, you can’t help smiling at each other and feeling like you’re about to open the door to Christmas.  Even Mr K was excited, oh yes, he was there too.

So we opened the door and there’s this roll-top bath, raised on a bed of glowing rocks, staring back at us from the corner of our lounge.  ‘The Big Yin’ truly gives all other hotel suites a standard to strive for – there were so many high points that I can’t begin to talk about them all or even post all the photos (so I’ve made an album for the rest on Facebook!).

Outstanding service and delicious food and perfectly mixed Gin Brambles and a four poster bed and beautiful toiletries by Arran Aromatics and a tartan bath and fluffy robes and smiles all round and dog friendly.  Not dog tolerant like most hotels, Malmaison is dog friendly; Mr K was offered a basket (he preferred the cool floor of the double monsoon shower though, he’s posh like that) and the end of the husband’s venison shank was wrapped up in Mal waxed paper for the doggy bag – the doggy was suitably impressed.

And now we know what they’re talking about when they say ‘That’s Mal Life’!

Huge thanks to the Malmaison Glasgow team who indulged us with ‘IT’S YOUR TIME TO SHINE’

Looks like you had a fantastic time! I love all the finishing touches, the Mal on the froth on the coffee, and was that really “Toast the day” actually on the toast?! Gayle xxx
