The white stuff

Our quest for the white stuff has yielded results; yesterday Le Tour and today Megeve.  Apparantly George Clooney has a chalet there although we didn’t see him.  Apparantly there are cafes with ski valets who check your gear for you.  Apparantly they put patches of glue on the slopes because my ski hit one and I face-planted (this has not been confirmed…).

Sunhine continues as does the bad driving; tonight’s victim was a rather expensive bottle of wine in the local supermarche.  Perhaps this coupled with our police escort home last night for the driving license is earning our accommodating family a reputation in their lovely, small, French village.  Not to worry though, the supermarche stocked plenty more bottles of wine for us to purchase.

We are, of course, still smiling!

P.S.  I hope my ski wear isn’t too unfashionable for you!x

I can confirm the existence of the ski valets in Megeve – they even have heated storage rooms to melt the snow off your skis while you dine. My (skint) little brother and his (skinter) girlfriend accidentally ended up eating at one. Whoops.

I was in Megeve in January when it was minus 21 degrees – looks a bit toastier now!

Oh dear! Ha ha – stuck to the more reasonably priced Les Houches today 😉
