Otherwise known as the return of the mini (remember that movie?).  I didn’t want to admit it at first but the mini is back – I am a true shorts devotee and initially my reverting to the mini seemed wrong.  As usual, I changed my mind.  It’s a woman’s prerogative after all.

Dangerously verging into streetwalker territory (especially considering my heel choice…) but saved by sticking to ‘the rules’.  Balance the short skirt with a chunky knit, long sleeve loose shirt, baggy tank with oversize scarf, etc…  you get the idea.  This stripe textured lemon knit from Next is a welcome addition to my closet not least because it’s already cuffed.

Things have been getting a lot simpler round this way the last week or two don’t you think?  Perhaps I’m influenced by the clean lines of all the AW collections springing up all over the net.  Don’t fret though, next week I’ll make a concerted effort to layer on some crazy!

Have a great weekend everyone – may the sun shine and make your world turn technicolour like it did this day (is it just me or does the background look kinda super chirpy, all kinds of bright, full of wonder FAKE?!)

thanks lisanne – my old faithful m&s boots from last winter fell apart on me (after much wear and abuse) and I found this brand new pair on ebay for about £6 – best part was, at the time I got the original pair I was stuck between them and these ones!x

I know what you mean, I think this is why I was so unsure to begin with – I hadn’t worn minis since my uni days a decade ago! I think w/ the rules if you want to, why not!x

Oh my god, you are so stunning you could never look like a streetwalker! That being said, I get the “rules” you’re going by, and it makes sense to pair somethign so “Scandalous” with something a little more demure.

Really love the way that the yellow looks with the leather skirt – a staple I totally need to add to my closet. Funny you say that about your outfits getting simpler, because I feel like mine are too! Maybe it’s the heat? Don’t know, but lately the simpler ensembles are taking the forefront.

LOVE your dog!! Ahh…dream dog – so perfect. Great blog.
