Metropolitan by COMO, London

The first 2 nights of LFW we were lucky enough to partner with the Metropolitan by COMO.  We checked in super speedily at 8am and, after 12 hours of day 1, I can’t even explain how it felt to come back to robes, room service and that skyline view of Mayfair through the massive picture windows.  (I ordered the most amazing salad from the Shambala menu whilst the husband ordered pizza and chips. I then shamelessly ate his chips).

Our Metropolitan room was probably bigger than most London apartments with space (and mats!) for yoga should one feel so inclined.  This one did not however… after spending the previous night in my train bed, the kingsize was calling my name.  It was cool that the staff were always one step ahead and in Armani uniforms and it was cool that the toiletries in the waterfall shower are all exclusively blended for the hotel (did not bring those home… not at all) but you must understand that truly the best feature was the light up closet.  If I coulda brought that home, I woulda.  No doubt.

Checking in on the weekend grants you a cocktail in The Met Bar so at the end of day 2 you can guess where we parked ourselves.  That was a goooood cocktail – sweet and peppery and fresh.

Breakfast was epic.  First I was naughty and ordered the ricotta hotcakes with salted caramel and chocolate bananas (you know that was amazing) and the next morning I stuck to the Shambala menu with fresh fruit salad and avocado tomato toast, both days I went for a fresh squeezed waterfall juice of apple, carrot, celery and ginger.  If you’re going to make it through Fashion Week you better be having a good breakfast (because there’s a good chance you won’t have time for lunch) and the Metropolitan gets full marks.

I have to send a massive thank you to the whole team at the Metropolitan for looking after us so well and making the busiest few days of my life easier.  You guys all rock.x
