The Ampersand Hotel, London

Thankfifi - The Ampersand Hotel, London-29

Details, details, details; a custom ampersand design feature round every corner.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Ampersand and it was good.   I’d check into this hotel even if I lived next door.

However, if you decide not to stay then go for dinner.  Promise me?  Whilst I will admit we had one complimentary night (blogger perk!), we were very happy to pay for a second night and even booked ourselves in for dinner in Apero.  We opted for the chef’s sharing menu and this was genuinely one of the best meals of my life (and the husband would tell you that I’m quite fussy when it comes to my food).  Five courses and each one perfect.  You could taste that the ingredients hadn’t been picked up in the local supermarket, this was fresh and just the best mozarella/chicken/gorgonzola I’d ever had.  I’m emailing the chef now to ask for that chicken recipe because I’d love to share it with you (and eat it at every opportunity).  Although as a third course a whole chicken between two may be a little excessive, we deemed it generous and did our best.  The husband and waiter had to convince me that a doggy bag back to Glasgow might not be the best idea and I only finally let the table be cleared when I was promised that the rest of that chicken would be eaten by someone… anyone… just not wasted.

You really need to stay at this hotel yourself to appreciate it – there’s a smile at every turn (especially the turn that took us to the games room… apparently I’m the girl who will be late to fashionable appointments for a game of post-breakfast table tennis.  I won.  I know you were wondering).
