Glasgow, my city

wendy-1172

Sometimes you can forget about the beauty right on your doorstep.  This is my city…  through the eyes of Nils Hasenau.

A sidenote…

Blogging can be a funny old world.  Usually I shoot with the husband or Nancy.  We have special relationships; the kind of closeness where it’s completely acceptable to say ‘suck it in’ or ‘you look tired, wear glasses’.  If you’re not feeling it, you say it.  Sometimes we move location 3 times before we’re happy… and that’s ok.

But sometimes I find myself shooting with someone I barely know or have never even met before.  It happens at fashion week and I don’t have a dog… or any clue what to do with the spare hand that usually holds the leash (thank you for pockets).  But Nils got in touch, out of the blue, and we wandered the city.  We wound up in The Cloisters at Glasgow University and I dealt with that big unknown lens right up in my face.  And here are the results.  I gotta tell you, these shots, of me in my Glasgow, are so special to me and completely worth overcoming fear of the unknown.

Thank you Nils for giving a new perspective.

Glasgow is stunning. It’s where my parents are from and a place I feel very at home at, despite having only been there a handful of times. Not many Aussies go to Glasgow, compared to other European cities but the ones who do always return with a great appreciation for its beauty and the unique kindness of the people who live there.

And these are quite possibly the loveliest pictures of you.

These photos are stunning! I completely understand what you are saying, when I’ve shot photos with someone other then my boyfriend, I felt a little uncomfortable but I think it’s nice from time to time to step out of your comfort zone. Love the colour of your sandals 🙂

    Take care,
