Beach bum

I’ll just go ahead and own up right now… I’m a beach bum.  No, you don’t get it, I mean I literally left with some of the beach stuck to my bum because I sat on this big ol’ barnacle rock.  On the other hand I really, honestly do love the beach – just Scottish beaches mind.  Beaches abroad are busy and sandy and sometimes they burn your toes – none of that in Scotland, even in a heatwave.  And another thing you don’t get are those beautiful, striped, mirage type, padded loungers with straw parasols – you know, the ones you see and think, wow, there are so many free and they’re all for me – so you sit on one and 0.27 seconds later you’ve got some grumpy man tagging your arm and demanding all the cocktail pennies out your purse for the pleasure of said lounger… but by then it’s too late, sucker.  I digress – on Scottish beaches the only lounger is gonna be the one you brought yourself (aka, your towel).

But on Scottish beaches you are absolutely welcome to just hang around on a rock.  They’re not padded or stripy and they don’t come with parasols but they’re free and… they rock (baboom-ch).  Happy weekend.x
