Double date – transatlantic Christmas party with Hallie Daily

Maybe it’s a teeny, tiny bit off kilter to hear Christmas songs and see trees and lights everywhere you go, all be it in December, but in 30 degree heat… in Barbados.  But it’s that time of year and actually this is the dress I wound up wearing for my Christmas night out on Tuesday – just with these boots instead of the nakey toes because, ya know, it’s about 2.5 degrees in Scotland right now.

Today I have a story of two halves though with my other half being one of my very favourite bloggers, Hallie.  Even though we have quite different style, we have a shared love for so many pieces and, across the Atlantic, our wardrobes have so many twin pieces.  Firm friends on instagram, bonding over our love of ‘bears’ (her son and my dogs), when Hallie offered to mail me her much admired, bright yellow coat for fashion week, I knew this is my kinda girl!  And then finally, this summer, we had the chance to meet, at New York Fashion Week – turns out Hallie is every bit as sweet and stylish in person.  So, we hatched a plan to share some our favourite party looks together, from Scotland and LA…  we hope you like them!

I love this shot the husband captured at The Crane, especially for this post, even though the low wall was slightly terrifying, because I can almost imagine some kind of speech bubble, looking out across the ocean to Hallie… oh hello!
