Summer lob – two ways

Sassoon Salon asymmetric lob beach waves - Thankfifi Scottish beauty blog-3

If you have been following for a while you probably know that my hair has undergone some pretty major changes over the past couple of years.  And now, the shortest hair I’ve had since I was about three years old, seriously.  And I actually love it.

Sassoon and I became very good friends when they were roped in to fix that awful brassy ombre eighteen months ago and they really did fix it.  Since then I’ve been visiting Sharz in Princes’ Square and together, him holding my hand, we’ve taken baby steps from these curls to this lob to this even shorter lob and finally we wound up here – almost a bob but still asymmetric (I just love that one short side to tuck behind my ear) and cut right up off my shoulders.  I won’t lie to you guys, I was slightly terrified seeing inches of hair fall to the floor but I absolutely love it.

I’ve been doing a fair bit of travelling and needed a healthy blunt cut that would be easy to manage for summer and this, my friends, is it.  I actually swished my way out of the salon

playsuit – Zara
‘w’ necklace – Blue Billie
‘love’ necklace – Astley Clarke
illuminating oil – Sassoon

This cut is so easy to live with – honestly I always thought short hair would take so long to ‘do’ but it takes me all of about five minutes to create these loose waves.  Just run the straighteners through two inch sections like curling a piece of Christmas ribbon, brush through, tousle with fingers coated in the miracle that is Illuminating Oil and… done.  Simples.

I really can’t sing the praises of this oil enough.  I wasn’t asked to include it in this post by any means but it is honestly a little bottle of heavenly smoothing non-greasy shine and I don’t think I could ever live without it now.  Amen.

I wanted to share a Before & After shot to show you just how crazy amazing this hair transformation really was, so here it is.  And the other way to wear this cut, in true Sassoon style, a slick smooth blow dry.  I have never had so many compliments on my hair, for real.

So that’s it – I am a short hair convert.  I can curl it, wave it, smooth it and muss it up all summer long.  What do you think?  If you guys are considering going for the chop I can’t recommend Sassoon enough, I put all my trust in them.

Your hair is lovely! I tried a lob once but found it so tricky to style – I think you need a great cut to start with like you have here 🙂

Definitely! I guess different cuts work for different people too but I’m so happy I found this one.x
