The new Pinterest worthy store to put on your Glasgow wishlist – Bluebellgray

Stepping past pots of lavender, placing a hand on the giant pink handle and opening that door to Bluebellgray is not really just ‘shopping’, not as we know it, it is an experience; immersing yourself in a world of colour and interiors inspiration and you better have your phone in your hand because you are gonna want to take pictures…

This week Bluebellgray opened the doors to its flagship store in Hyndland (full address and opening times here) and I strongly advise you bookmark this for your Glasgow bucket list.  Here’s why.

Way more than a store or a shop, this space will make you happy – my inner Pinterest addict was in overdrive with those herringbone wood floors, pink encaustic tiles, that oxidised copper counter and damn that neon sign is fiiiiine.  Geez.  And then in that space imagine the most beautifully curated selection of lust worthy items for your home; all the things we know and love Bluebellgray for including fabrics and bedding and cushions but punctuated with stunning ceramics and baskets (for your home and your hands) and fragrance and furniture and more…  The kids corner was a complete surprise to me and I was blown away – basically all the things I search online for but never seem to find.  You better believe I took full advantage and filled my bag with a wall crocodile and rainbow for the nursery.  Ok and something small for myself too – a handcrafted wooden chopping board currently in situ as a drinks rest atop the footstool in the family room.  Then there is the gallery wall filled with original works by Fi, the founder of Bluebellgray (that’s her just down there) – my personal favourite?  ‘Sod it, let’s paint it pink’.  Not just for the title, although it could be.

I truly am so proud of Fi and the whole team; no detail forgotten.  Sometimes I really can’t quite believe I no longer work here because Bluebellgray is like family and to have watched it grow through all the years to where it is today is very special indeed.  You won’t see this if you go because it lies just behind the door to the upstairs studio but just back there, you would find a quote on the wall – ‘Have courage and be kind’, Cinderella.  And yes, this place is magical.
