The trouble with time

Time is a funny ol’ thing these days.  There are two extremes – either you have no time at all or all the time in the world.  Not much middle ground.

There was snow on the ground for six solid days last week and yet here we are, a week later, snow melted, possibly even signs of spring beginning to peek through and now I am sharing my snow images.  It does not take a rocket scientist to deduce that I fall firmly into the ‘no time at all’ camp.

Yesterday I took a solo car journey, the first in months, and that alone time felt like such a treat.  I caught up on two podcasts I love and stepped back out onto my driveway with new found purpose and vigour.  I wanted to share them with you…

The first was this episode from Jenna Kutcher’s Goal Digger podcast.  Often I fall into the way of firefighting at work – throwing anything at the empty space on the internet and hoping for the best but this episode really reminded me of my intention to share more purposefully.  I revisited this post I shared at the start of 2020 ‘Goals For A New Decade‘ and, whilst my Instagram strategy has evolved (and now in fact includes a whole new account), a lot of what I said still rings true.  Later today I will be setting some goals and writing a strategy for the coming months and hope the content I share with you can be of real value.  On that note, if you have any requests or thoughts please don’t hesitate to reach out (leave a comment, write an email, drop into my DM’s on Instagram).

On the return journey I sat down with two of my favourites (perhaps I should say three) and tuned into this episode on how to keep a clean and tidy house.  It truly lifted my spirits to feel part of Monica and Ella’s chat with Eliana and so much of what was said resonated with me.  Something that particularly struck a chord with me was the concept that these little areas of clutter around the home become micro-aggressions in our day to day lives and build up to a general feeling of disease – cluttered house, cluttered mind.  This morning I took Mama Eliana’s advice and cleared my kitchen worktops of everything that was not absolutely necessary and already I feel like I can breathe easier when I step into that space.  Next to tackle on the list is the bedroom – I am so ready to reinstate my sanctuary.

In the meantime, here we are with an out of context winter wonderland and many, many warm layers.  It might not be seasonally relevant but the light was just beautiful that morning and, if you scroll down, you can catch a heart melting picture of my little ol’ snow bear in his element.

This is such great layering, I like the mix of textures and it works so well with every piece being a neutral 🙂

It’s good you got some time to yourself too and it inspired you to try some different things! Good luck with it all!

Hope that you are having a good week 🙂
