The April 5

So many goodies this month I struggled to whittle it down to five but here we are…  my favourites from around the www…

SHOP

Highly anticipated, especially following a ‘false launch’ for about ten minutes a couple of weeks early, the H&M wildflower collection arrived last week and every piece is beautiful.  I always pay special attention to the fabric compositions and was delighted to discover lots of 100% cottons as well as linen blends with very affordable price tags.  It is flying off the virtual shelves but, if your size is not available, you can sign up for a ‘Notify me’ alert for restocks if you wish.  I bought this dress – super simple but so pretty – I adore it.

COOK

I make this Half Baked Harvest better than takeout sesame ginger chicken fried rice on a monthly basis and it truly lives up to the name’s claim.  To tell the truth, the last couple of times we have eaten takeout I have been left feeling a bit meh and my belly does not thank me for it so this really hits the spot.

WATCH

For me, Homeland seemed to lose its way in recent seasons.  As the husband put it – the plot became a bit 24ish – repeating a formula of international terrorist crisis, Carrie saves the world, etc.  Well, let me tell you, Homeland Season 8 on Netflix will have you on the EDGE of your seat.  Twists and turns aplenty, this is just about as tense as it gets and the acting is on point (something I took for granted until I followed it with the latest Line of Duty which, to be honest, I find underwhelming).  This final season is incredible and it firmly holds its place on my ultimate list of binge worthy tv.

READ

Originally I stumbled across this article, Anti-Aging Is A Construct by Jessica Defino, on Rosie’s instagram story and, wow, it really just made so much sense to me.  I have never been one for fancy skincare (I do in fact have an unopened tub of La Prairie on my vanity unit) and this left me feeling absolutely justified in my skincare routine of late which consists of two simple steps – wash face and moisturise with Aveeno.  Imagine your anti-ageing routine is in fact ageing you?  This turns everything the industry sells you on its head – if you have time to peruse I would really love to know what you think…

I wrote a piece last year sharing my super affordable summer skincare heroes which you can find here – I haven’t changed a thing since.

WEAR

Hallelujah for finally being able to leave the down puffer coat AT HOME.  We have entered spring jacket territory – aka the awkward in between season.  This Gianna jacket from wonderful, sustainable British brand Baukjen ticks all the boxes for me and I have been wearing it a multitude of ways.  It blurs the lines of jacket and shirt so perfectly I created a video to share it styled five ways over on Instagram here.

That jacket is beautiful on you and I love the way you layered it with the denim! 🙂

I really like the prints in that H&M collection too, I can see why it sold out so quickly!

Hope that you are having a lovely week 🙂

Thanks Mica – in fact this week it’s actually warm enough not to need to layer it with another jacket – SO happy spring has arrived in Scotland at last! Wishing you a lovely week too.x
