The April 5

Back in business with the monthly five and a nod to the seventies with some epic tv, clogs, spring staples and the new Glasgow cocktail and dining experience you have to add to your list.

Scroll down for my monthly top five…

SHOP

Boden’s spring shoe collection had my heart skip a beat the moment I clapped eyes on that golden snaffle bit.  The clogs won me over because I can never say no to the chance to go retro but undoubtedly the loafers are more of a classic whilst the sandals look perfect for the promise of sunnier skies.

Also on my must shop list this month are these high street jeans, if you can get your hands on them.

EAT

Honestly I get invited to quite a few restaurant openings – some I decline, some I accept but choose not to share (if I wouldn’t recommend then into the vault it goes), some I share on Instagram stories and then there is the odd shining star…  like this.

Somewhere by Nico is a new immersive cocktail experience – six courses, each paired with a small plate, for £65.  All the theatre we have come to expect from the Nico team yet never at the expense of the dishes.  They say ‘every sip is a journey and every glass is a portal to the extraordinary’ and they are right.  We experienced ‘The Land of Oz’ theme which runs to the end of the month – if you can get a table, do – what an experience.

WATCH

Palm Royale by Apple is going straight on the Ultimate List of Binge Worthy TV – if only for the sets and the outfits – what an utter joy for the visual senses she is.  Step inside Palm Beach’s most exclusive club in 1969 and root for the underdog as she tries to break into high society.

READ

I have been paying a subscription to Homes & Gardens for years – I truly love this magazine so much…  so I was delighted to work with them to share what is truly the best deal I have ever seen – 12 digital issues for only £12.

The editorials are stunning, the real homes are so inspirational and there’s just a lil’ bit of design focussed travel and delicious recipe content thrown in there too – it really has everything – that’s why I’ve been buying it for so long and now, at £1 a month, you won’t regret it – I promise.

If you fancy a peek at the house progress and a nosey through the magazine, check out this video.

WEAR

My top five for spring from the Glasgow high street – see my 2024 Buchanan Galleries spring edit in motion right here.  These are the hard working pieces that really go the distance.
