If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen me at parties and events sipping on indulgent looking drinks and you might even know that those were actually sparkling mocktails. In fact I took up the 2 week Highland Spring Christmas Pretox challenge. So what’s that all about then? In a nutshell – 2 weeks, no alcohol and always 2 litres of water a day. The results? My skin looks more vibrant and feels smoother and I feel more energetic (than my friends and colleagues at least, it is still party season after all so there have been late nights). Obviously I wanted to try to show you my glowing skin so apologies for what is probably the largest photo of my face ever to be published on the www…
In truth I’m not a big drinker anyway but doing the pretox gave me the perfect excuse to stay healthy in what is usually a free for all bar hustle. The beauty of sparkling mineral water is that it looks a heck of a lot like a ‘real’ drink so I didn’t have to put up with the usual ‘Go ooooon, have a drink’ chat. Winning.
Already on the right track I jumped right on the healthy train and cut out (most) naughty foods between Monday and Friday, took extra long dog walks and managed to start squeezing in some morning workouts too. When in Rome eh? And you know what, I’m heading into the holidays a few pounds lighter and with a little Highland Spring in my step (see what I did there?!).
Check out the recipes for all the Highland Spring sparkling mocktails here. I would be so bold as to suggest it might just be the perfect thing to take up again post holidays…
I have to do that. Someday I drink 2 glasses of water and that it! Even though I know its bad for my skin I always “forget” to drink water..
I always feel so terrible if I don’t drink enough water – the headache I get is reminder enough!
