Humour me and take a step back a week because we got some catching up to do…
I was lucky enough to be invited down to Regent Tweet again this year and I won’t lie to you or dull it down – it rocked. Basically it’s a massive shopping event bringing together around 100 of the world’s biggest bloggers to shop Regent Street, London. Well, you’d have to be crazy to say no, right?
Obviously I played it cool… and wore a video camera on my head for half the day. I think I made it work.
Aside from the fact that Regent Street is one of the most beautiful streets on the planet, hello giant, curving, white stone architecture, there is just the best mix of shops – high street to high end. Of course we hit up all the usual suspects including Gap for the denim fit service, Reiss for obviously everything and Guess for sparkling, summer goodies. There were some new picks for me too like Hackett (Love a monogrammed leather luggage tag and a G&T – a shop with a bar? Win.), Penhaligons for the beautiful scents and displays and Laird & Co for those hats. I literally walked past 3 different shop windows thinking, wow, I love ALL of that… Burberry. Burberry and Burberry again. Ah, one day.
I always seem to gravitate towards Regent Street when I’m in the city – maybe because I love it so much and maybe because , in spite of many visits over the last couple of years, it still seems to be the only street I don’t get lost on. Either way I love it. There’s a Regent Street app coming really soon which should make things even more fun – we had a preview and the best way I can describe it is Tinder for shopping. Your perfect shops and activities paired up for you with location maps and special treats along the way – be rude not to take advantage of special treats wouldn’t it?
We stayed at the Courthouse Hotel which was right across the oh so pretty Liberty and just the perfect base for shopping, cocktails and more shopping. Nancy came for a sleepover on Saturday night and we were like teenage girls chatting and giggling way too late into the night…(we even celebrated our first anniversary, no seriously, we met at Regent Tweet last year).
A weekend of shopping with new friends and old that I won’t forget in a long time. London, you stole my heart.x
