Who is the clown who wore a cashmere knit and full length jeans in twenty five degree heat? This girl. The thing is that I did not want to create a tonne of high summer content in the South of France and then come home at the end of September to a Scotland in the midst of autumn. So yeah, I was warm.
But my feet, well, let me tell you, my feet were very, very happy. I actually saved these Fitflops for this shoot because right outside our Airbnb the promenade was pretty sandy and dusty and I wanted them to be fresh out the box for their close-up you know. Then I put them on and I felt like my feet actually breathed a big sigh of relief. Obviously they are comfy; as in cushioned, soles walking on clouds comfy. I did not take them off again the rest of the trip. True story. I wore these furry Harper slides out for dinner with a jumpsuit, I wore them round the villa with my leggings, I wore them out for a pretty fancy lunch and I wore them all the way home through three airports and two flights and right back to the Scottish countryside. My feet were so thankful and I was left wondering why the majority of my other summer footwear options basically have zero support and a paper thin sole. My mum gave up on her shoes too and wore my uberknits for the full and final two days. Ergo, Fitflops are Comfy (yes, with a capital ‘C’) and if you can find footwear that is comfy AND on trend then you know you are having a Tom Hanks in The Da Vinci Code moment (the Holy Grail friends).
These shots show just a little corner of La Ciotat, which we all fell so in love with… you can see why. And yes, I have about three thousand super summery images to edit and I am going to do my very best to save them for spring when they might just be slightly more relevant but if you have any questions about the area or the trip in the meantime just fire your questions in the comments below and I’ll answer right here.
Ok, bye now, if you need me I’ll be planning my early retirement in the South of France…
With thanks to Fitflop for sponsoring this post.
