20 smart black friday investments 2021

Just like last year, I gave a bit of thought to Black Friday and decided against sharing links to anything and everything as I no longer shop impulsively but rather for solid investments that will go the miles.  So I created a concise edit of twenty pieces, starting at just £2.39, which I either have and love or which I truly believe to be good purchases.

Here are my top twenty smart investments for Black Friday 2021…

H&M leather leggings – £159.99 down from £199.99 (for Plus Members – free to join)
Leather leggings, along with a great coat and pair of boots, are such a solid winter investment.  I have a Boden pair which I have styled both casually (for warmth) as well as dressed up throughout the past few years.  Whilst this is an investment, £160 for genuine leather is a GREAT price with most others clocking in around the £400 mark.

Of course, I was keen to include my Commando faux leather leggings in the edit too but sadly I could not source any on sale – they are available on Net-A-Porter, Matches, Selfridges (now 20% off with code SELFCCE) and Amazon if you want to keep checking.

La Redoute hat-shaped rattan ceiling light shade – £80 down from £160
I adore these giant hat style light shades and this one is a really great price – I have my eye on it for when we finally transform Summer’s nursery into a bedroom.

LK Bennett cassandra leather knee boots – £319.20 down from £399
I have these boots and, let me tell you, the quality of the leather is second to none – just so soft and beautiful.  I am all about the low heels these days and these are perfect over leggings and under dresses alike.

Jigsaw shearling slipper – £56 down from £80
The perfect gift.

Our Place home cook duo – £180 down from £265
This is basically the deal of the decade.  If you need any further convincing about the Our Place Perfect Pot and Always Pan, I worked with them on this feature and I have not stopped using them since.  Absolute game changers in the kitchen.  There are sales running across the entire product range but the home cook duo is incredible.  If you fancy trying the rest of the range, the knives are very sharp and this chopping board is just a genius design – so great for carving meat and less than half price.

H&M hooded puffer coat – £39.99 down from £49.99 (for Plus Members – free to join)
I bought a coat like this from Zara last year and wear it A LOT.

H&M cable knit jumper – £39.99 down from £49.99 (for Plus Members – free to join)
A cable knit jumper is such a staple for winter and never really goes out of fashion.  This longer length pairs really well with leggings but works equally well belted over a dress or skirt (see here).

H&M ribbed beanie – £5.59 down from £6.99 (for Plus Members – free to join)
Currently winging its way to me following this 20% off everything discount going live.

Emu Australia okab boots – £135.20 down from £169
These boots are without a doubt some of the best money you could spend.  Leather, waterproof, sheepskin lined and solid treads for good grip in winter – I barely bother wearing socks with mine because they are COSY.

H&M cedar rings for moth protection – £2.39 down from £2.99 (for Plus Members – free to join)
Also checked out with these babies – waging ware on the moths – pray for my cashmere.

Varley adelaine sweat & luna legging – £77 down from £110 & £60 down from £87
Varley is a brand introduced to me earlier this year and I have fallen hard for it.  The quality of their pieces is seriously good and you can find me in their leggings and sweats most weekends.  If you live in leisurewear off duty as much as I do then these are worth the investment.

Baukjen fabi recycled sparkle jumper – £126.65 down from £149 (THANKFIFI15 for 15% off)
26-29.11 100% OF PROFITS WILL BE DONATED TO CHARITY
This knit is just gorgeous – the shape is almost identical to a lemon Ganni one I reach for year on year but Baukjen pieces have the added bonus of being super sustainable (B corp certified).  My code works site wide including the gorgeous striped knit from my Autumn Capsule edit.

Philips sonicare toothbrush via Amazon – £35.99 down from £79.99
Pretty sure I have featured this before but, I have a Philips toothbrush, it is fantastic and this is a good discount.

LK Bennett florentin wool coat – £399.20 down from £499
Somehow on site this coat looks a little ordinary but, in person, it is absolutely divine.  I love the wrap, the belt, the neutral colour, the slightly oversized fit, the voluminous sleeves and the fabric is heavenly soft.  If you need more convincing you can see it styled a few different ways on Thankfifiwears.

Boden velvet jewelled headband – £38 (awaiting discount)
Right now Boden have discounts running on outerwear and nightwear but I had to include this headband because I have a really similar one and pull it out every Christmas – such an easy way to festivicise (that is a word right mum?) a simple look.

Gap family plaid – 50% off everything
I could not resist.

Strathberry crescent shoulder bag – £420 down from £525
The level of craftsmanship that goes into these pieces is just incredible so, to be quite honest, I think the price is great because, although Strathberry bags are most definiely investment pieces, the quality could rival any designer handbag out there and they are Scottish too which I love.  I chose to feature the black crescent shoulder bag because I largely focussed on pieces which will be timeless but you can see the full Black Friday sale here which includes my beloved Lana Nano as well as my Mini Crescent.

Mango asymmetric velvet jumpsuit – £10.99 down from £49.99
This discount seems to good to be true if I am honest.  I bought the Mango velvet jumpsuit from my Black Friday edit last year and will definitely be pulling it again this year – so chic and so comfy – just add a belt.

Amazon fire 7 kids tablet – £49.99 down from £99.99
Also in my shopping basket and, I hope, the answer to our long car journey nightmares.

The Solar Centre USB solar Chistmas reindeer – £119.99 down from £149.99 (w code BF20)
Solar Christmas lights (with the option to top up charge via USB?) – I am here for this.  No more cables, just pretty lights.  These are sitting in a delivery box on my doorstep as I type…

You may notice that this edit is distinctly more monochrome that my usual edits but I really wanted to focus on the classics.  A good rule of thumb is to avoid being sucked in by discounts on anything you would not at least consider buying full price.

Many of the pieces in my Autumn Capsule For Any Budget edit and 12 Of The Best A/W Maxi Dresses feature are also now reduced so please do take another look there too if you fancy a peruse of some different options.

    Hi!
I got an Amazon tablet, too! I was quite chuffed about the Joules & Boden savings. Stocked up Christmas presents for the kids, I love the children’s clothes.
