Sometimes I have to admit there’s a fine line between work and play wear for me. After work I ditched the blazer and heels in favour of running shoes (not for running obviously, that’s something I used to do during the hours I remember so fondly… free time). I discussed my quick transition with the husband on our evening dog walk and he suggested that perhaps if my trainers didn’t have neon yellow laces it wouldn’t have been such a swift tumble in the fashion stakes. But what does he know, neon is in… or at least it was – fashion is fleeting.
But rather than focus on the negative of my downgrade, I want to big up the real positive here – it has become acceptable, fashionable even, to don anything slouchy and comfy (and heck, if it has the word ‘boyfriend’ in front of it you’ll get extra points) – just and add heels for instant street cred.
Thoughts?
Love the jacket you are wearing. Your dog always makes me smile!
I know, he makes me smile too – often I think because he looks like he’s smiling 🙂
awesome look hun! in love with those heels ; they look great with BF jeans!

Me too – they seem to really go with EVERYTHING!
This is an impeccable look!! It works with heels and it instantly turns Scandi with trainers! I love shorts and blazer on you methinks is one of your star pairings!!
think it’s one of my favs too 🙂
I reeeeally love the slouchy + heels look but i feel like i can never pull it off – I’m too little! it really does look like i’ve just literally put my boyfriends clothes on (which I frequently do, but that isn’t the point). you pull it off so well though – i couldn’t be more envious of those legs! 🙂

I suppose that is the point! Maybe just stick to slouchy top or bottom rather than both and then you won’t be so drowned in slouch?
Beautiful jacket! Love it with shorts 😉

thanks sheree – had them both for ages but they still keep going from season to season 🙂 love it when clothes do that!
When I saw you and your fluffy, adorable pooch on Refinery29, I knew I had to visit your site! And I am so glad I did. 🙂
You look beautiful in this outfit – I really like the marine slight marine look here. Those ( nautical ) stripes are awesome. And oh, did I mention your dog is adorable? 😛 ( you must hear that so often! ^^ )

Often yes but I don’t mind 🙂 I agree, he is adorable! Thanks so much for visiting.
I’ve always been afraid of doing the monochromatic look- but the blues on denim blues work for you! I think its because you broke it up with some blue and white stripe patterns. Great look!
I think, like you say, so long as you break it up a little then it works ok
fantastic simple look!

Confession – I LOVE anything slouchy, flowy, roomy but clingy at the same time and ultimately anything cool with a slight masculinity to it! I can understand why they are trendy 🙂 You look fabulous and I think I’d prefer this outfit with a comfy Converse instead!
