I love shiny new things. Like these boots… or fast cars or diamonds or laptops (I’ll take one of these please).
I also love old things. Not like crumpled, dirty things whose smells makes your nose melt – I love the old favourite things. Like these jeans, this necklace (a gift from my dad), this shirt and this hat. The husband gave me this hat for Christmas one year long before he’d even put a shiny new thing on my finger (oh wait that was a shiny old thing… story here). The old favourites can be worn and worn and worn but rarely ironed and always loved. You can always rely on them to look just how you imagined and feel happy in them.
And pretty soon these boots will be joining the old favourites because I’ve been wearing them as if I don’t have a closet full of alternate footwear buuut it has been raining. A lot.
And such is the cycle – new to old to loved. Fashion philosophy for Monday morning. Don’t worry, I won’t do it again.
