This weekend saw the opening of the Buchanan Quarter and amongst newer, shinier versions of my staple favs there is the giant Forever 21. What’s almost most exciting about this store opening is the choice to bring such a huge store to Glasgow.
Judging from reactions on Twitter and Facebook last week when I posted a couple of shots from the opening night, you guys are excited. And rightly so, this isn’t just a shop you pop into, it’s a destination. Spread over 3 floors, it’s vast and if you’re a fan of bargain fashion you’ll be in heaven – plenty of basics and jeans (not bad fitting either, I tried some yesterday) and a tonne of ‘fashion’ pieces. It’s not exactly directional but it does fit with Glasgow style (although maybe a little shy on warm pieces fit for our current spring climate) and really cleverly merchandised. All the jeans are hanging cuffed which pleased me and mannequins are dressed with layers and nice styling details. It looks good and that makes it a nice store to shop in.
My top picks are the jeans (around the £20 mark), the jewels in the sweetie shop accessory lounge and the real suede, fringed jacket nestling in the centre of the ground floor with a price tag of under 50 bucks. Get in quick…

P.S. In an attempt to be… erm 21 (not fooling anyone) and apparantly Texan, I donned all the plaid I owned.
I actually really like all of your plaid pieces together! Looks like a lovely store as well 🙂
Away From The Blue
The more the merrier eh?!
I’ve still not made it along but will hopefully be paying a visit over the long weekend 🙂 I really like the look of those jeans with the white flower detail and cannot wait to explore the accessory lounge!!
The jeans all sit around the £20 mark and I narrowed it down to 2 pairs but heading back to make my final choice soon – I was surprised for the price to find that they were a great fit – I think you’ll love it!
I can’t wait to go, still not made it yet!

Reminding me to take a look in our local Forever 21! Haven’t been there in quite awhile. Not as nice as this one, though! Love the photos!
definitely worth a check – even if it’s just for the basics because they’re so darn cheap!
Looks like a really awesome event! You look great.

thanks so much caroline – it was loads of fun
I’m so bad about taking things for granted. We’ve had Forever 21 in California for about 30 years now. The quality has dramatically improved over the years while they’ve been able to keep the prices low.
Funny how you just forget when it’s on your doorstep for years – maybe it’s time you popped back in!
