The days are flying by out here in Kuala Lumpur but we have been so lucky to see so much and, honestly, there is something to open your eyes at every turn. The Thean Hou Chinese temple sits atop a tree loaded hill, bang in the middle of this crazy city and yet in an oasis of serenity. The details are so intricately beautiful and, even as a tourist, I felt so peaceful surrounded by the colour and carvings and worshippers. I lit 3 joss sticks and planted them in the dragon pit to make a wish, or prayer, and had the chance to tell my own fortune by dropping a large bundle of numbered sticks to see which number would come out on top – my fortune was in a tiny corresponding silver drawer (I think there was truth in it). I’m not honestly a religious girl but the sense of calm and beauty up here was overwhelming.
The temperatures have been so high here that choosing the right clothes has been a bit hit or miss. I have become excellent friends with cotton and broken up with polyester for good – let’s just say it was a messy break up. This dress is from the Kate Moss Topshop collab (love this one, miraculously still available) and somehow I have never shared it before but it’s so perfect for holidays – loose and pretty at the same time. And cotton. I don’t like to confess that I got caught up in the whole designer collaboration hype but, clearly there’s not hiding it now, I did. Sucker. Some of the pieces were just so pretty though, mostly made from quality fabrics and with beautiful embellishments or embroidery like this one. Scroll right down to see more shots of the look and keep an eye out for the tortoise pond.
Hope you are all having a great week too – tell me what you’re up to, I miss you guys!x
