Potato Head is just cool. Full stop. I’d seen it on Pinterest and been recommended it by Julia – I knew it was gonna be a goodie so I saved it for last. We were booked into Lilin for dinner but headed over mid afternoon to enjoy the beach club; we checked out the uber cool shutter rainbow, headed in and parked ourselves on a day bed (give your name at reception as soon as you arrive to get on the list), ordered the best pina coladas of the entire trip, floated over to the swim up bar and watched the sunset over the infinity pool and out to the ocean. From the moment we arrived we were so well looked after – you might know I have one of the most awkward allergies known to man… garlic… well, these guys were all over it. They couldn’t do enough to make sure everything was perfect for us and when the food came, all custom cooked sans garlic, it was awesome (chefs selection to start followed by grilled shrimp with coconut rice for me and Asian chilli crab for the husband in case you were wondering). It truly was the perfect way to end the trip of a lifetime.
I picked up this playsuit in Melbourne – a bit on the pricey side but my holiday treat to me (why not eh?) and I have been hankering after a Zimmermann piece for years so, when I found myself at the source, it seemed the right time. I’m pretty sure she’ll make an appearance on every holiday for ever more… I love her.
Right at the end of the night, when we were on espressos, the heavens opened and it poured. Not like when it pours here, like real, tropical downpour that looks like the sky just dropped a bucket and laughed. We were safe undercover but watched everyone scurry around the pool, huddled under umbrellas, the rain jumping in and out of the pools… it was kinda magical really…
