It had only been a week but seaside cravings took hold pretty hard pretty quick and the need for sand between the toes was real. Waves crashing, clouds rolling, dogs digging… Being by the water is like weekend medicine – something so delicious the Monday Friday feels a million miles away in a moment.
Being by the sea for those few days only made my love grow deeper and it seems as soon as the weekend rolls around I am drawn to the coast. And so a summer of seaside dreaming begins – this time in Troon. Wide, wide sands that are so soft… when you take that first step (sans shoe) and your toes dip into that velvet, warmed by the sun, you just have to stand, you know, just stand there and feel it. There are dunes and grasses and big hunks of driftwood and that instagrammable fence and on cloudly days it’s just you and the dog walkers and the kite surfers…
Can we talk about sale season for a moment though? Of course if this were real summer and not Scottish summer, a hat would be a beach must. So I don’t need it in the practical sense but it’s a fedora and it’s that colour and so, in some sense, I need it. And the stripes… classic. Only during sale season I can splurge on Wang stripes for 30 bucks. So I did. And I wore them all at once because I don’t believe in saving anything for sometime that might never come.
But back to the beaches… where to next? Tell me your favourites – the epic summer Scottish beach tour starts now…
fedora – Reiss (ON SALE!)
T by Alexander Wang tank – Matches (ON SALE!)
jean – Zara (ON SALE!)
Another amazing beach? Really lovely photos!
I really need to check out the matches sale! You should try Lossiemouth beach, we went there when we went to the cabin last year, gorgeous and Seb loved it
