The curious thing about skirts is this – when you’re 20 you simply cannot understand why anyone, other than your granny, would wear a hem below the knee… but time creeps on as do trends and, slowly but surely, those hems start to lower. Fast forward to your 30’s and all of a sudden it seems the objects of your skirt-y affections are midi – the once awkward length now prevails as the easiest to wear, the most ladylike and perhaps even… sexy? Less is more, or in this case, more is more.
L.K.Bennett are all over it with their midi selection growing season on season until now, this season, the holy grail of midis – burgundy leather. Not too full, nor too fitted, the softest leather (and I’m not just saying that – THE softest I own) and the colour… you know all about my affinity for red by now. No surprise to me that L.K.Bennett have hailed her ‘The Social Skirt’ then – I certainly want to show her off at every opportunity (inviting confused work colleagues to stroke my skirt).
And with that, the end of fashion month. We made it. A whirlwind of New York followed by London and weeks of photos to share… thanks to Nancy for all the awesome shots and thanks to you for sticking with me.x
