It is a funny ol’ world the world of a blogger. Looking back a few years, ok seven (woah), Thankfifi started out as a space to share my outfits and honestly most of those clothes were sourced from Ebay or sales or had been in my closet for years, sometimes many, many years. I simply was not in a financial position to shop ‘new in’ collections each month. Heck, I still am not in that position.
But with time I found myself in this space where there is this pressure; a pressure to wear something current all the time and something new every day. I guess the truth is that I imagine there is this crazy expectation of being able to click to shop every single piece you see. I mean honestly that is a little nuts. Who in this world lives like that? Not me. Truthfully I feel so fortunate to work with some really wonderful brands and I will always love creating content to share those pieces – that is what keeps the creative in me happy and why I do this. I love nothing more than telling a story through images and words. But I personally do not shop all the time – in fact I have a pretty strict budget and I really do stick to it. If I go over budget one month, I cut back the next.
So I had a little chat with myself, actually more of a talking to, and I decided to just do me. If I buy something I love I will share it with you. If I wear things that are not currently available, whether that be because they are from seasons gone by or because I snagged the last one in the sale, then I will probably go right ahead and share those too. Because frankly sale season is my friend – I mean that moment when the notification pops up to say that Net-A-Porter 80% off final clearance has a FURTHER 20% off? That is my moment. When Free People email me to let me know that I can shop the sale with a further 30% off? Also my moment. I got this dress by the way and it is cotton and so red and I love it. I just need the sun to return to Scotland so I can wear it.
So here’s the thing – this jumpsuit was one of those such buys. Months ago. And even then I think I bought the very last one. The sandals are two years old but I still like them. And the bag seems to be sold out. So I cannot link them and you cannot buy them but I hope you enjoy the post anyway.
Would love to know your thoughts on all this…
P.S. Ironically the only thing currently available is the pair of sunglasses, which I have misplaced and although I am certain they are simply biding their time and having a rest from my face in a coat pocket or amongst a bundle of receipts at the bottom of a bag, find them I cannot. Read as ‘lost’. For over a month. And they are my favs.

My thoughts on this are, “What a relief!!!!” Thank goodness you’re not wearing something brand new every day – like you say, who does that in the real world? I really enjoy when I see you were something that you’ve had on before, enjoy seeing how you change it up age style it differently. And I love that you love a sale! Like someone said many years ago, it would be rude not to! Hope your sunglasses turn up! X

It WOULD be rude not to when it’s a bargain! Thanks Gayle.xx
Love the post! I for one come to blogs for inspiration rather than shop. To add to it I also love the way you write, your sense of humour. Keep it up!

Thanks so much Trisha, such a lovely comment, you’ve made my day. And I am definitely the same – for me the internet is a place of creative inspiration.x
Hello,
Do you remember the name of the jumpsuit?
Author
Yes, I just checked my order history and it was called Hearts Flutter jumpsuit from Free People.x
That is such a cute jumpsuit! 🙂
I think it’s your blog, so you should post what makes you happy – and life would be boring if we just wore clothes once, never feel bad about wearing old favourites!
Hope you are having a great week so far! It’s been a busy one here.

So true Mica, I of course wear old favourites again and again in real life but try to switch it up for the blog. One of the things I really love about having a blog is that it encourages me to think outside the box to style old things in new ways. There’s a chance you’ll see this jumpsuit turn up again in winter with boots and a poloneck 😉
That is such a cute jumpsuit

Thanks Kara – I never can resist a big ruffle!
I love how you wrote ‘Net-A-Porter 80% off final clearance has a FURTHER 20% off?’. Sales so low the clothes are actually free lol. If only . Great post, show off your style no matter what season the clothes came from, doesn’t matter
