The May 5

Summer whites, summer dishes, easy watching and some tips for getting ourselves out there again (whether that might be in the playground or back to the office) – my favourites from around the www this month…

SHOP

This blouse – organic cotton, cutwork detailing and ruffles for £39 – I am in.  I wound up on the Monsoon site during my peruse for the ‘50 Spring Dresses Under £50‘ feature and I have to admit I was impressed.  Having not shopped there for some years I was pleasantly surprised to discover a lot of pieces which were right up my street.  Sustainable options, artisan prints, beautiful detailing and reasonable prices – here are some of my favourites…  (try code TAKE10 for 10% off)

COOK

Spring food is all about the fresh flavours for me and this Harissa Salmon with Healthy Couscous hits the nail on the head.  It does not take long to put together, is packed full of good for you ingredients and also happens to be the dish that changed my mind about salmon…

WATCH

I love a wee twenty minute show at the end of the day so you can just imagine my delight when Superstore popped up on Netflix – five seasons of the most lovable employees on the planet (and don’t worry, you get used to Glenn’s irritating voice).  It has been added to The Ultimate List of Binge Worthy TV

READ

I always love Krystal’s writing and this piece on Making Friends As An Adult was such an uplifting read.  I feel like we are just on the cusp of getting back out there so whether it is reconnecting with an old friend or making a new one, take the leap.  It might just be what gave me the courage to exchange numbers with a local mum I have been saying hi to for the past two years but never actually got to know…

WEAR

I have a belief that you can throw a great blazer over just about anything and smarten yourself up in an instant.  Maybe you are on the cusp of returning to the office or just meeting a friend for lunch but, I have to tell you, it feels so good to be unusually smart.  This one, the Almeida jacket, was kindly sent over by British brand The Fold (they just set up home in the new John Lewis, Edinburgh) and it is THE most beautiful cut; premium tailoring in a sustainable fabric and it has a removable belt my friends.

Off white is my colour of choice for some spring optimism (whispers quietly ‘grown up moments away from the tinies’) so I have shared my favourites from this high street to the high end below if you fancy one too…
