Just squeezing the June top five in in the nick of time – all about the al fresco this month with a twist on the typical barbecue, getting back to basics, pretty summer sale finds and a beautiful new concept for the perfect table setting. I hope you find something you like…
SHOP
The sales. If you have a wishlist or saved basket now is the time to open that baby back up and check for reductions. There are some brilliant discounts at many of my favourites including Mango (I ADORE this blouse even though it was full price when I bought it), The Outnet, Net-A-Porter (watching my wishlists like a hawk for the prices dropping even further), Sezane (who almost never do sales), Jigsaw and LK Bennett but be sure to check your favourites too.
I’ll pop links to some of my top picks below to get you started…
COOK
BBQ season is here at last and this grilled pork tenderloin with chimichurri by The Modern Proper gives a nice alternative to burgers and sausages. It has the most delicious sweet spice rub, a refreshingly punchy herb sauce (just chuck in any leftover herbs you have) and it is pretty healthy too. I serve ours with buttery baked sweet potatoes and BBQ griddled sugar snaps.
WATCH
Call My Agent on Netflix. Oui, oui, oui. I promise you will get past the subtitles VERY quickly because this show is just wonderful. Four seasons of brilliant characters, friendship, rivalry, love, family – it picked up an international audience during lockdown, me included.
Naturally it has been added to The Ultimate List of Binge Worthy TV…
READ

I subscribe to Red and have for years but also take short subscription deals on home magazines (hunt around for the best deal and ALWAYS set a calendar reminder to cancel it before the offer ends) – Living Etc. and Homes & Gardens are current favourites.
WEAR
Is there anything lovelier than sitting down at a beautifully curated table? This month I am dressing mine with a gorgeous box of co-ordinated pieces from local independent Truffle Tablescapes. I really love this concept because it just takes all the hassle out of picking out pieces before guests arrive; whilst I love doing this for photoshoots, I rarely have time when I am also cooking a meal. This makes life so simple I could almost entrust the task to the husband…
