The biggest lesson I’ve learnt in the past 6 months

Hello, welcome back… to me… and to you.

Let’s not dwell on the fact that 2024 has been busy; I think everyone I know in this phase of life is in a perpetually ‘busy time’, waiting for things to calm down, for the crazy to pass.  But you know what I have learnt?  To give myself grace.  To allow myself some down time.  To just be.

In a nutshell,  the busy ain’t passing.  I made the conscious decision to do, just a little bit, less.  I spend more time with my kids, I play more tennis, I read, I let some things slide and I am ok – the world has not stopped turning.

Last year we spent five or six nights a week, 8-12, and most weekends working on insulation and all manner of other things for the house extension and we were really, REALLY tired.  So we moved in and gave ourselves some good, old fashioned time off from DIY.  I think I am ready to get back on that train again (but I know better than to make any timeline promises).

Whilst Instagram hasn’t slowed down any, I do have a few blog posts in the pipeline so let’s start there shall we…

P.s.  Bit of a spoiler on the new kitchen I know but, again, letting myself off the hook and I promise to be back sharing all the kitchen details soon enough.
