Happy new year – sneaking in with a last minute monthly five for January featuring feel good tv, gut healthy comfort food, cosy clothes and a corker of a dress that sucks you in and smooths you out and made me feel a million dollars (for £23.99).

SHOP
If you buy one thing this month make it this dress.
Our fifteen year wedding anniversary took a bit of a turn when we were due to fly out to Chamonix last Friday just as storm Eowyn hit with her hurricane force winds. A dream trip cancelled and a hasty new plan saw us spending the night at the Marine Hotel in Troon and enjoying an absolutely gorgeous twenty-four hours there (the interiors really stole the show).
I had my heart set on a really special dress for the occasion and, after quite a few fails, ordered this one on a whim from Amazon – turned out to be an absolute gem. The best way I can describe this dress is like full body shapewear in a really nice, thick quality, tight knit and, honestly, although it was a bit out of my comfort zone, I felt great in it.
The fit is snug so if between sizes, go up one – you won’t regret it.
EAT
Bone broth.
I have been hunting for a bone broth without garlic for some time and am so happy I discovered Freja. I ordered one each of the chicken and beef and am totally hooked. With 25g of protein in the 500ml carton of beef bone broth, I have just placed a bigger order – it ain’t cheap but it is on sale right now.
You can drink it alone for the protein, collagen, etc. or add it to you soups or stews. I snapped the pic below after throwing together a big pot with all the leftover veggies in my fridge with a nest of rice noodles, some ginger, lime and coriander and topping it off with a soft boiled egg and some seeds.
A healthy hug in a bowl.
WATCH
You know that January feeling where you just wish you could discover an easy watching, feel good, six season long show… I got you. How did I not know about Parenthood before now?
Added to the Ultimate List of Binge Worthy TV (which I continually update by way – partly for you, partly just for me).
READ
What an absolute honour to see the kitchen featured in a four page spread in the Jan & Feb issue of Homes & Interiors Scotland.
I will admit to the official kitchen reveal languishing on my to do list for something close to a year… and maybe this will be the encouragement I needed to finally move it to the top of the list – I mean, if H&I Scotland don’t mind that it is not entirely finished, then why should I?
You can spy a bit more in this video if you want a little tour.
WEAR
For me, this month has been all about feel good, cosy outfits – the softest of neckscarves, the classic, chunky knit (half price now by the way), the tummy flattening, leather leggings and this cardigan that sold out in seconds (I am keeping my eyes peeled for a restock).
Popped some of my favourites below – these guys have all been on hard repeat this month.
