Lost but not forgotten, well forgotten for a little while, my trenches have been rediscovered and celebrated this week. Both this one and the other one are a few years old now but there are always plenty of options to choose from on the highstreet and they pretty much never go out of fashion.
Belt it in at the front or the back, cuff the sleeves up, wear it open – I think it looks cooler. About an hour into the dog walk I caved and shut it… right up to the neck… and tucked my scarf right in… and turned the collar up. There’s cool and then there’s just cold.
…
trench – Tu @ Sainsburys
stripe tee – H&M (also seen here)
jean – Abercrombie & Fitch (last seen here)
wedge hi tops – River Island (love these for a winter colour update)
glasses – M&S, leopard scarf – ebay
leather gloves – Rocha. John Rocha c/o Debenhams (ON SALE!)
lead – Ancol, coat – model’s own c/o Infindigo
Some clothes can live forever. Sometimes you just have to add some tiny detail and an old thing gets a new life:)
Exactly – having a blog forces you to find new ways to reinvent old things and I love that
Oh I love these jeans. You look amazing as always Wendy x
thanks Claire, I’ve had them since I lived at home (ahem, 10 years ago…) and they’re quite flared but roll up into a nice boyfriend shape.
also nice to be able to say I can still fit them!
I love the stripes/animal print mix!
I am quite the fan of mixing spots and stripes 😉 Here’s another look – https://www.thankfifi.com/2012/03/spots-and-stripes/
I love that you wear heels to walk your dog. I’d probably break my neck if I tried that (actually, I tried it once and nearly did – think wedges might have been preferable to skyscraper gladiators though…).
Aw these aren’t real heels, they are so so comfy I promise. I do often wear proper heels though for lunch walks because I come right from work… and want to take photos!
As long as it is not too cold ! And as you say, it’s always possible to cover up if needed. Just love the way your jeans are ripped !
thanks daisy, they came like that but have worn a little extra over the years I’ve had them
casual chic!

The Weekend Diary
Me too – I remember thinking they were kinda crazy when I first bought them but I’ve worn them so so much I never regretted it (and now, of course, I want another pair…)
I’ve rediscovered my wool trench this week too, like yours it’s a few years old, but still looks perfect & so timeless too! I love how different they look depending on how your wear then, open vs. closed.
Loving those jeans & I’m still obsessed with wedge sneakers, I definitely need to get myself a pair soon!
Oh you should get some – so comfy!
Trenches are so great for cooler weather! Really like your scarf too, it’s so nice against the stripes 🙂

Spots and stripes are about as adventurous as I get in the print mixing dept.!
I love love this comfy yet chic look. That Leopard scarf is awesome, I need one for me. And Mr.K is super cute as always.

aw, thanks christy.x
Honey child I hear that! I say that to younger girls all the time. You can look chic and buttoned up but never sacrifice being warm for being cold so some stranger can think you look cool. By the way I really love those shoes and that coat is so lovely! And you puppy is as cute as always!
It is Thanksgiving here in America and I am thankful I know you! Now I know if I am ever across the pond I have a closet to raid and a rad gal to hangout with!
