This blouse is pure cotton, the most lovely soft shade of warm lemon, has beautiful puff sleeves, lace detailing and a universally flattering loose peplum shape. And it is £9 in the H&M sale.
A friend was trying on some pieces left over from my pop up shop this weekend and asked for my opinion on a couple of dresses. I liked them enough but I did not love the colour on her and I was honest. I explained to her that I have a rule now that I will not be sucked in by a sale steal – that is to say I imagine the piece being full price and ask myself if I would still make the purchase. If the answer is no then I would only be wasting my money, no matter how much. Equally with designer pieces I try to imagine stumbling across it on the high street, without the aspirational label, and ponder if my desire for said item would be so great…
So to come full circle – yes, this blouse is a mere £9 but I really do love it. I would love it if it were a £300 Zimmermann blouse too although I am delighted it is not…
