I gave a bit of thought to Black Friday and decided against sharing links to anything and everything. My mindset has completely changed through recent years and I no longer tend to indulge in fast fashion. So, whilst plenty of those sites might have great sales, I wanted to share a concise edit of pieces which I either have and love or which I truly believe to be good investments (because even on sale, anything you spend your cash on is an investment).
Here are my top twenty smart investments…
Strathberry Breve bag – £127.50 down from £425
I have the Lana bag and it has been the bag of the year for me – the quality is incredible and Strathberry are a beautiful Scottish brand. These are big ticket items though so this little baby, at 70% off, looks very special – and such a festive colour.
Boden cropped cashmere cardigan – £91 down from £130 (w code C4L3)
I have a weakness for cashmere and especially the machine washable variety. I have been wearing this beauty A LOT. The cropped length is perfect with high waists but it does come in a longer length too and an abundance of different colours.
LK Bennett Aubree leather jacket – £276.50 down from £395
Not sure this jacket needs any introduction does it? Just absolutely perfect in my eyes – the length, the butter soft leather, the retro vibes. (If you happen to be inbetween sizes, I say size up).
See by Chloe espadrilles wedges – £105 down from £210
Perhaps a bit random for the end of November but an absolute summer classic. Chloe for a hundred bucks ain’t bad.
Zara high rise slim fit jeans – £15.59 down from £25.99
I live in these jeans. They were afforable to start with and now they are a downright bargain. I am sorely tempted to order a reserve pair.
Mango openwork cotton blouse – £25.99 down from £35.99
I do not own this particular one (although plenty of others) but a cotton cutwork blouse is a basic for me – perfect for layering under dungarees and sweater vests and takes simple jeans to another level.
Mango velvet jumpsuit – £49.99 down from £69.99
Got my eye on this for the festive at home period – stretch velvet with a super flattering waist bow looks ideal…
Ganni Julliard jumper – £160.50 down from £390 (w code BLACKFRIDAY)
I have two Ganni knits and love them both. Quite spenny but they hold their value well so can always be resold if you change your mind in a few years time.
& Other Stories smocked ruffle top – £60 down from £75 (w code FRIDAY20)
This just looks like the perfect little top for throwing on with jeans and looking ‘done’ you know?
Karen Millen wool maxi coat – £83 down from £279
The sale at Karen Millen is INSANE right now and their quality is always excellent. This coat looks like a winner for smart as well as casual.
Steamery pilo fabric shaver – £30 down from £40
Top of my sale shopping list so I can give my good knits some serious TLC.
Phase Eight Serenna jumper – £59.50 down from £85
I have this jumper and it is honestly the biggest hug. The slight cocoon shape means it works great for tucking in too.
Nordgreen Native 32mm watch – £93.60 down from £144
Ditch the phone and wear a watch. I love Nordgreen for their timeless design and sustainable approach and this is my style of choice (see a bit more of it here as well as the husband’s choice).
Astley Clarke diamond pendant necklace – £520 down from £650 (w code SPREADJOY)
Ok, this is the investment. Solid gold and diamonds in the daintiest pendant – I would never take it off. I do have this one, a gift from the husband, which I adore too and is infinitely more afforable at £68
Karen Millen faux fur jacket – £59 down from £199
I have one of their fur coats and it is just the most beautiful, soft, dense quality. This sale price is brilliant and it comes in three colours.
Wacoal lace bralette – £36.80 down from £46 (w code SELFCCE)
This is hands down my favourite lingerie for at home – dainty hook and eye to the back, ample enough cups, super pretty but with all the comfort of a bralette.
Baukjen organic hoodie – £68 down from £85 (w code THANKFIFI20 & 100% of profits go to charity)
I wear this every single morning. I cannot tell a lie. Baukjen are a gorgeous brand with a beautiful ethos and their Black Friday charity donations make this the perfect time to shop.
& Other Stories cashmere beanie – £36 down from £45 (w code FRIDAY20)
I have a mint ribbed beanie from last year and still adore it… the only thing that could make it better would be cashmere.
Fitflop Knot leather boots – £72.25 down from £145 (w code BOOTY)
My go to winter boots – smart, casual, anything in between. They are comfy all day and have just the right amount of ‘clump’ for my taste. The sale is pretty great already but the code gives an extra 15% off boots… The Elin winter boots and Skandi hiking boots are also brilliant and the Carita sneakers are favourites too.
Mango water resistant puffer coat – £89.99 down from £119.99
Just the perfect 2020 coat. A duvet you can wear outside in the rain. I have a black Zara coat similar to this but I really like the idea of this warm camel. It does come in black too though if you’re boring like me…
And that is, as they say, a wrap. I am so intrigued to know if you are shopping the sales this coming week and, if yes, what you have your eye on? Anything more exciting than me and my fabric shaver?

Love that this is a well thought out edit of things you will wear for years. Have had my eye on the fitflop boots for a while, so may have to invest…. I don’t have a fabric shaver on my list (yet) but am looking for a new duvet

Thank you, so glad you like it. Firm yes to the Fitflop boots – you’ll wear them for years… and I love that you’re looking for a new duvet – perfectly smart sale shopping right there!
That rust wool coat is such an amazing deal and I agree a good investment! I’m even considering it although I know it would be too warm even for the middle of winter here, haha! Such a classic piece on a great sale! 🙂 Thanks for sharing your shortlist!
Hope that your week is going well 🙂

This is soooo good. I want everything.
I can only imagine how much work went in to this.
I’d love to share this on my Instagram page if you post there?
Thanks
